One of the most popular things I have done is leading girl groups. After the series is over I always hear from the girls "I wish this didn't have to end."
Me too.
That's why this fall I'm launching two Becoming Girls Groups at Lasting Peace Counseling.
Ages 9–11
Ages 12–15
We'll meet once a week for eight weeks after school in a safe, encouraging environment where girls can build friendships while learning about:
Identity and confidence
Healthy friendships
Emotions and resilience
Boundaries and communication
Body changes and growing up
Coping skills and anxiety
Purpose, gifts, and strengths
What it means to become the woman God created them to be
Rather than simply teaching information, we'll create space for girls to ask questions, laugh together, encourage one another, and discover they aren't alone.
The groups will conclude with a special mother-daughter Becoming Retreat, where moms will join us to celebrate everything the girls have learned and continue building those relationships at home. Because girls don't just need more information; they need trusted adults walking beside them. They need healthy friendships. They need women who remind them of who they are before the world tells them who they should be.
And moms need community, too.
